Please Note: Borax and Boric Acid are two different formulations of the same compound. Borax is a mineral that is taken straight from the ground (a form of the element Boron) and used in cleaning products. Boric acid is its extracted, processed and refined form, found in a variety of chemical products. Both can be use in melting metal to clean the metal. You can mix them too for melting metal. Borax can be use as a flux. Both can also me mix and use as a prep for crucible when melting. Or can be use alone for the crucible prepping too.
