Description
Screwhead with tang files are used for filing slots in small screws or narrow slots of any kind. Screwhead files are available in various thicknesses from 0.45mm to 0.80mm. The cut is the same – single cut, on every screwhead file. Both sides are safe as the cut is only on the edges.
Screwhead files are numbered differently than other precision files. The number LP1840-4-4 is a 4″ length cut file , which is 0.55mm on this scale. The last number listed in the part number for screwhead files is for thickness not for cut.
Things you should know about ordering hand files:
Glardon-Vallorbe Swiss Made Precision Files are measured from the point where the teeth begin to the end of the file. A 6″ precision file will measure 8 1/2″ long from tip to end of tang, but it is called a 6″ file.
